Today, at an administrative meeting at Uttar Kanya, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari announced several key initiatives for the development of the hills.
A Medical College will be established in Kalimpong, 8,325 houses will be constructed under the housing initiative, and 15,000 women will receive financial assistance under the Annapurna Yojana. Tea workers will receive a 20% Puja bonus, while steps will be taken for swift recruitment to the EFR and the formation of ‘Arjun Bahini’ for the security of the hills. The GTA budget has also been doubled.
The State Government remains committed to the development of the hills and the welfare of its people through long-term planning and inclusive development.
