Benefits Offer Under the Scheme
Possession of an E-Shram Card brings the following benefits for the holder
- Accidental insurance coverage: Up to Rs 2 lakh for accidental death or total disability and Rs 1 lakh for partial disability (via PMSBY).
- Pension benefit: Eligible workers can receive a monthly pension of around Rs 3,000 after the age of 60 (through schemes like PM-SYM).
- Access to multiple government schemes: Integration with welfare schemes such as PMJJBV, PMSBV, PMAV, MGNREGA, Ayushman Bharat, etc.
- Financial assistance in emergencies: Workers may receive support during crises (e.g., pandemics or disasters) using the national database.
- Universal Account Number (UAN): A 12-digit unique ID valid across India for tracking benefits and employment records.

Eligibility:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Age should be between 16 and 59 years.
- Must be a worker in the unorganized sector (e.g., construction workers, street vendors, domestic workers, migrant workers, etc.).
- Should not be a member of EPFO, ESIC, or NPS (government-funded).
- Should be a self-employed worker, home-based worker, or wage worker in informal employment.
- Generally intended for workers with lower or unstable income (typically below Rs 15,000/month for certain linked schemes).
Application Details:
- Visit the official portal: Go to the e-Shram website or a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC).
- Start registration: Click on "Register on e-Shram" and enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number to receive an OTP.
- Aadhaar verification: Provide your Aadhaar number and complete OTP or biometric authentication.
- Fill personal details: Enter information such as name, address, date of birth, occupation, and skills.
- Submit bank details: Provide bank account number and IFSC code for benefit transfers. Complete self-declaration:Confirm eligibility and submit the application form.
- Generation of UAN: A 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN) is created after successful registration.
- Download E-Shram Card: The card can be downloaded instantly in PDF format or printed.
