- Provides direct income support of Rs 6,000 per year to eligible farming families, paid as Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
Eligibility
- Must be a citizen of India belonging to a farmer family and owning cultivable land.
- Ownership of land should be recorded in the land records of the concerned State/UT.
- Excluded categories include institutional landholders and higher-income groups such as serving or retired government officials (except certain classes), income tax payers, and professionals like doctors, engineers, and lawyers.
- The beneficiary must have a valid Aadhaar number and an active bank account for receiving Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Application Details
- Visit the official PM KISAN portal or approach a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC).
- Click on “New Farmer Registration†and provide required details such as Aadhaar number, mobile number, and state.
- Fill in personal details, bank account information, and land ownership details as per official records. E-KYC of bank account is mandatory.
- Upload or verify necessary documents, including Aadhaar, bank details, and land records.
- Submit the application form online and note the registration/acknowledgment number for tracking.
- The application is then verified by State/UT authorities (Block ADA of Agriculture Department) after which eligible beneficiaries receive payments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
