West Bengal government provides scholarships under NSP WB for Minority Students to financially assist students from Classes IX to Ph.D belonging to minority communities
Benefits Offer Under the Service
Pre-Matric Scholarship (Classes IX-X):
- Coverage of admission and tuition fees (primarily for Classes IX-X, as per scheme norms).
- Monthly maintenance allowance for both day scholars and hostellers to support study-related expenses.
Post-Matric Scholarship (Class XI to higher education):
- Reimbursement of admission and tuition fees (subject to course category and scheme limits).
- Monthly maintenance allowance for day scholars and hostellers, with higher rates than pre-matric level.
- Coverage for technical and professional courses, including additional approved fees (within prescribed ceilings).
Eligibility:
- Applicant must belong to a recognized minority community (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi)
- Student should be studying in Classes IX to PhD level in a recognized school or institution
- Must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous final examination
- Annual family income should not exceed 1 lakhs for pre matric and 2 lakhs for post matric
- The student should not be receiving any other scholarship
Application Details:
- Apply online via NSP-WB portal
- Register with basic details (name, mobile, email), EPIC, Aadhaar
- Fill application form (personal, academic, bank details)
- Upload documents (income, minority certificate, marksheet, bank proof, etc.)
- Submit application before deadline
- Institute verifies and forwards for further verification
- Approved amount is credited via DBT to student's bank account
