The West Bengal Shikshasree Scheme is a state government initiative that provides annual financial assistance to students from economically weaker sections in classes V to VIII to support their continued education. Benefits Offer Under the Scheme

• Annual financial assistance (scholarship) of Rs 800 per student for Classes V to VIII.
• Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the amount into the student's bank account.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
• Must be studying in Classes V-VIII in a government, government-aided, or government-recognized school.
• Annual family income should generally not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
• Student should not be receiving any other similar scholarship.
• Must have a valid bank account.
